10/09/2009 - Have you used Rat CP yet and have a story to tell? |
 |
Barrettine Environmental Health have been approached by the TV programme 'Farming Sunday', a specialist farming channel, wanting to do a feature on their new rodenticide product, Romax Rat CP.
Romax Rat offers the pest control community something different, both in terms of uniquely attractive ‘soft-block’ formulation and its reduced secondary poisoning threat and as such, has caught the eye of the farming media.
As part of the programme, they are looking for a pest control company to join them with filming. This would be a serious look at professional rat control on the farm.
We are not looking to sell this product direct to farmers ourselves, but we are hopeful that the exposure will be good news not only for our Distributors in the sector but also to raise the profile of the professional servicing side of the industry in farming.
Have you used Rat CP yet and have a story to tell?
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity for some exposure in the agricultural sector, please contact Chris Parmiter at Barrettine on 0117 967 2222 or e-mail chrisp@barrettine.co.uk |

To further safeguard our members from bogus opportunists, all payments for the NPTA endorsed scheme are by way of a cheque only, posted to NPTA House. So if you're asked to pay in a different way or send money anywhere else, it will not be our endorsed service. |

09/05/2009 - Rodent Disposal - Environment Agency Survey |
 |
When the Environment Agency extended the concession given to farmers and gamekeepers allowing them to burn or bury rodent carcases in rural areas to pest controllers, it was on condition that NPAP would monitor the disposal.
The concession was initially given for a two year period and will lapse in 2010 unless we can prove that there has been no risk to wildlife and the environment as a result of pest controllers taking advantage of the concession. We have now established a specific website to allow pest controllers operating in rural areas to complete a survey form and to send back any relevant information.

23/02/2009 - "NPTA get the headlines again!" |
 |
Members will be pleased to read that the latest issue of Environmental Health News (EHN) has carried on its front page this year's story of the Rodent Survey Report 2007/08 with our findings of the huge increases in the numbers of rodents. A reported 15% rise for rats and a 6% rise in mice call-outs reported by 344 Councils who took part in this year's survey. This equates to an 80% return from the Councils in the whole of the UK - quite an achievement in itself.
The call by the CIEH for a single government department to take on the responsibility for pest control is certainly endorsed by the NPTA. Our Chairman, Barrie Sheard says "The current fragmented split of pest control between DEFRA, the Department of Health and the Health and Safety side of the job doesn't bode well for initiatives, integrated thinking or working."
